When you make an audit, do not overlook the importance of paying close attention to what the person listening will tell. A golden rule of auditors should be to speak for only 10% of the time made available for audit, the remaining 90% going to listen.

A recent statistical survey on communications in general has reported a result, quite terrifying: as many as 70% of communication is misunderstood! Certainly, many of these communications are not very important but not understand things well during an audit can seriously undermine the credibility of a verifier.
